About Us
The Migrant Resource Centre Northern Tasmania – known as MRC North – was established in 1982 as a not-for-profit community organisation to facilitate the effective settlement of migrants and refugees in the north and North West of Tasmania. Our office is based in Launceston.

MRC North plays several roles and has had a long history of supporting people from diverse cultures. It is an arrival centre for migrants and refugees. It is a place for developing skills for adults learning to drive and teenagers doing their homework. It is a place where the newest arrivals to northern Tasmania and the more established communities come together to celebrate diversity.

MRC North is the provider of the Humanitarian Settlement Services program and since 2004, has assisted over 1,400 people to settle in northern Tasmania.

The organisation provides a range of settlement, integration, community development activities and specialist services.
