The George Town Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Business Tasmania invites members of the local business community to this event.
Learn how small businesses can be supported through the Tasmanian Governments Business Tasmania Service:
Kelly Brown, the Manager of the Business Tasmania service, will share how Business Tasmania help people to start, run and grow their business by offering personalised assistance, information and access to a range of services and programs from the Department of State Growth and other government agencies. The Business Tasmania team make it easier for the community to talk to government and access available support.
At the event Kelly will share grant writing tips relevant for both first timers wanting to learn how to apply for grants for the first time, and for more experienced people wanting to improve their applications.

Everyone attending will receive a copy of Business Tasmania's grants writing handbook
You will also hear from experienced business advisors about the support they provide through the New Business Support Pilot Program and the Tasmanian Business Advice Service.
Stephen Hansen of Rural Business Tasmania can assist people thinking about starting a business and new small businesses can receive up to two hours of free advice under the New Business Support Pilot Program which Stephen is delivering in George Town. Stephen can assist you with topics including: establishing a business structure, determining business viability and financial forecasting.
James Abernathy of Braddon Business Centre will share the range of assistance and advice he can provide delivering the Tasmanian Business Advice Service which provides up to five hours of free advice and support to existing small businesses each year. An experienced business advisor, James can provide advice on a wide variety of topics, including: managing cashflow, marketing, risk management and small business planning.
Following the presentations will be an opportunity to network with members of the small business community.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, whether you’re a business owner, operator or dreaming of getting started.
Light refreshments will be served and free parking is available at the venue.
